Clouds of fragrant smoke, illuminated in purple and orange, softly enveloped the cramped space under the dense vaults of tanned hides.The misty images appearing here and there seemed to howl silently in terror. They writhe and groan, changing forms as they try to break through the soft barrier into the night.
Kneeling in front of the furiously blazing hearth and struggling to restrain his trembling, he peered endlessly with his inner eye at the incredible visions of the luminary, leaving in the cold emerald depths. Beyond any doubts, the ritual was a success. The gifts were accepted, the signs were marked, and the dice showed the right path.
But this simply cannot be. Just. Cannot. Be.
